From Flab to Fab – My 4th Week on Nutrisystem

From Flab to Fab – My 4th Week on Nutrisystem

I’m gonna do things a bit different this week. Instead of just blogging about my Nutrisystem experiences, I made a video! The video gives you some basic tips and info about Nutrisystem, as well as a peek into my messy bedroom lol (we’re still in the process of moving).

Before getting to the video, I want to thank all of you who’ve been so supportive. It’s not an easy thing to do, to put yourself out there. So, from the bottom of my heart.. thank you. Your support means the world to me!

I’ll be doing a new video each month, with different topics each time. Here’s the first of many:

One thing I forgot to mention in the video, is that you also get an after dinner snack. I had it sitting next to me when I did the video, but for some reason, I completely forgot to discuss that. I’m such an airhead sometimes LOL

From Flab to Fab – My 3rd Week on Nutrisystem

From Flab to Fab – My 3rd Week on Nutrisystem

I’m now 3 weeks into Nutrisystem and I can still stand by my previous post – the food is delicious! At this point, i’ve tried a variety of different breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. I thought I had my favorites pinned down, but now I just can’t decide. Stuffed shells, sweet and sour chicken, alfredo, carrot cake – the list goes on and on!

When I started my journey, I was 150.8 pounds. I’n only 3 weeks into it and i’ve lost 8 pounds (3 in the last week). It’s been a challenge as I still have cravings, but that’s normal. I have to keep telling myself “don’t give in, you’ll regret it”. Sometimes that works. Other times I end up giving in and then pouting over the lack of self control.

I guess the way I see it, we all make mistakes. I can’t beat myself up and let one slip up be a an excuse to wreck the whole process. I just have to let it go and keep moving forward.

Something that I love about the Nutrisystem Success program, is that you get FREE online access with your purchase. Now, i’m not able to use this as much as i’d like I don’t get much free time). however, I love that I can log in at my own convenience, and keep up on how my friends are doing. I’m also able to find user submitted recipes, keep track of my weight loss (as well as exercise and measurements) and even earn rewards! For every milestone you reach, you’ll get a free teddy bear, to commemorate your success. It’s a nice momento to say “hey, you’re doing great. Keep at it”. Who doesn’t love some positive reinforcement?

I’m getting a bit hungry so i’m gonna go have a cup of yogurt (and toss in some raspberries). Yum! A sweet treat I can feel good about!

From Flab to Fab – My 2nd Week on Nutrisystem!

From Flab to Fab – My 2nd Week on Nutrisystem!

It’s been 2 weeks since I started on Nutrisystem and I couldn’t be happier (click here for my into and click here for week 1). While I haven’t tried all of the different foods yet, I have tried my fair share and so far… 2 thumbs up. I’m especially fond of the creamy chocolate protein shakes, and fettucine alfredo. YUM!

When I started my journey only 2 weeks ago, I weighed in at 150.8 pounds. Here we are, 14 days later, and i’m down to 145.8 – a 5 pound loss! I’m extremely proud of that (especially since i’ve cheated here and there). I’m doing my best to stick with it though. It’s not difficult as the food is really yummy. The hard part for me, is when I get horrible cravings for something and nothing seems to cure it (other than tasting whatever it is i’m craving). I can’t keep doing that though. I’ll get nowhere like that. I need to break the cycle!

I’ll be honest. Today was an “off the wagon” kind of day. My youngest son had his pre-school graduation today. After the graduation, they had food for us to eat. Of course, I had to have some. I ended up eating fried chicken, a biscuit and some pasta salad. I’m not gonna beat myself up over it. It happened. That’s that. No looking back… only forward!

I’m making a promise to you and to myself, to stick to the diet 100% over the next week. If I take it one day at a time, one meal at a time… I can do it!

I’ve also been going to the gym, every couple of days. Now that the kids are out of school for the summer, i’ll be able to go daily. That should help the inches (and fat) fall off in no time! Especially since I have a point of motivation. I’m going to a cruise in November with some of my fellow bloggers. I want to be able to feel comfortable around everyone, when it’s time to swim. I haven’t worn a bathing suit in YEARS! I hate feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. I’m such a fun person, but it’s hard to express that when i’m worried about my appearance.

Well… it’s almost dinner time, here on the East Coast. I’m off to make some Nutrisystem Pizza with LOTS of mushrooms. YUM!

#NSNation – My Nutrisystem Weightloss Journey; Week 2

#NSNation – My Nutrisystem Weightloss Journey; Week 2

It’s Friday, which means it’s time to update you all on my progress with Nutrisystem!

This week did not begin with a great start. Last Sunday, was Mother’s Day, as most of you are aware. I woke up to my sweet husband handing me a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant from Burger King. Sweet? Yes! Good?? Definitely!! Cheating?? Of course.

I had been doing really well not to cheat and stay on track with my goals and approved food. But it was Mother’s Day, after all. A day celebrating me and a special breakfast bought just for me. I could have let it go to waste, or even put it in the fridge for one of the girls the next day. But I decided I had been doing good on the program and one croissant on a special day wouldn’t hurt me that much.

I have to say it tasted GREAT, haha! I really love their croissants and normally do not eat them often. I ended up not having my protein shake (or smart carbs, power fuels, lunch) that day to try to make up for all the calories I took in with that one croissant. I went back to Nutrisystem food for dinner.

The Nutrisystem food has really been great. There’s only a couple of things that haven’t been “my cup of tea”. Overall I am extremely impressed with their foods. They are all seasoned well and nothing has really been bland. The sweets are sweet, the snacks are good, and it’s all very filling (especially when you add in grocery foods like fresh veggies). Now, that doesn’t mean that I’m not still tempted watching the rest of the family chow down on KFC or Nutty Buddy Bars. Overcoming the urge to dive in with them has been a challenge, but it’s doable.

Fast forward and we’re at the end of the week. All week I’ve had my scale say I gained 0.5lbs one day, lost 0.5lbs the next – back and forth literally all week. I really think something may be wrong with my scale – but I haven’t gotten a new digital scale yet, so ol’ faithful will have to work.

I’ve maintained drinking my required 64 ounces of water each week (using the Nutrisystem Water Bottle of course) and usually drinking more than that (between 80-96 ounces). I still have not had a regular coca-cola since I started (which again is HUGE for me). I’ve yet to have any coffee (although it is allowed), which is another shocker for me.

For my “Daily 3” activities I’ve been continuing to do housework, which as most of you know never ends, haha! Laundry, cleaning floors, scrubbing tubs/showers, vacuuming, etc. I’ve also continued to do my workout video’s on Netflix, changing it up each day. I do dance workout video’s everyday for 20-30 minutes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I try to do the suggested exercise on my “Daily 3” page. This week I did Pilates on Tuesday and back to Yoga on Thursday. Both days I also still did my dance workouts. I’m really feeling the soreness in pretty much all of my muscles, which makes me think I’m doing something right. 😉 I should note that I’ve not been one to really exercise since getting out of school. I’m excited to start seeing a difference in my muscle tone – which hopefully will be soon!!

With all of that being said, these are all HUGE life changes for me. Like really Huge! It’s not easy, but it’s not really hard either. It’s all about your mind-set and determination, along with support from great friends (like Renee, The Christmas Fairy, and Must Love Coupons) and family. Without my support system, I don’t think I would be as motivated to keep going with all of these changes.

I managed to lose another pound this week, not a huge loss – but it’s better than a gain…right?!? Plus I did cheat so that could be why. Regardless a loss is a loss, and I’m marking this week down as an overall success! I plan to keep sticking to my goals and increasing my water and exercise even more next week. Wish me luck!

OH! And measurements will be coming soon!! I took them at the very beginning, but my toddlers have run off with my tape measure – so an update is coming as soon as I find it. 🙂

Things I’ve learned throughout week 2:

  • Cheating makes you feel guilty and really is not worth it.
  • Making several new life changes at once isn’t easy, but definitely something to be proud of.
  • I hate my scale.
  • Giving up regular cokes has really been the easiest of all changes I’ve made.
  • I love my friends and family, even more each day, for their awesome support throughout my life and most recent goals.

Some of my favorite Nutrisystem foods this week:

  • Tuna Salad
  • Banana Nut Muffin
  • Chef’s Table™ Steak Tagliata
  • Chocolate Protein Shake
  • Cheese Puffs

Weightloss Progress:

  • Starting Weight: 140 lbs.
  • Weightloss after 12 days: 5.5 lbs.
  • Current Weight (5/11/12): 134.5 lbs
  • Goal Weight: 115 lbs.

Again, I just want to add that my weight goal is approximate. I am really more concerned with where the fat comes off, as in losing the kangaroo pouch belly, and overall…being healthy.

Have any of you tried Nutrisystem? Are you currently dieting or starting a new exercise routine? We’d love to chat with you all and include you in our support system!!

#NSNation – My Nutrisystem Weight-loss Journey Begins SOON!

#NSNation – My Nutrisystem Weight-loss Journey Begins SOON!

I am SO excited!! The other day I got the news that I’ve been accepted into the Nutrisystem Blogger Program! This is exciting for many reasons. One being that I’ve wanted to find some sort of program I could do to lose weight, since I had my second child almost 3 years ago.

With each child, I gained a lot of weight and went from weighing 130lbs to weighing 200lbs or more. Why? Because I enjoy food and I like to eat, haha! I mean I REALLY enjoy food! When someone would offer me something to eat since I was pregnant, I would quickly accept it whether I had just eaten or not. Should I have been eating everything in sight? No. Did knowing that stop me? No, haha! Really it’s not funny because since then, I’ve struggling to get this ‘Baby Weight’ off.

Another reason I am SUPER excited about this program, is that 2 of my good friends are going to be doing this with me! Our very own Renee, and then our good friend from The Christmas Fairy as well. I have ALWAYS said that whenever you are trying to lose weight by either dieting or exercising…it works better when you have someone to do it with you. We will be supporting each other throughout this journey and it will help knowing we are not alone. We’ll be looking for all of your support as well! Diets are NOT easy (at least not when you love to eat like I do).

I (along with Renee) will be sharing updates with you throughout the entire process. At least once a week (most likely more), you will hear about different Nutrisystem Products we’ve eaten and our weight-loss (hopefully no gaining) updates. We may share things we find difficult or our opinion on how certain products taste, etc. We’re going to let you know all the details and share our experience with you during the next 4 months.

If you have a Nutrisystem story, we’d love to hear about it and chat with you! Feel free to share in the comments below or on our Facebook Page. I know my Sister and Step-mother have done really well with Nutrisystem, which is another reason I wanted to give it a shot. Maybe they will share their experience with us too!
