Some of my best memories as a child, were waiting for the ice cream man to come driving through the neighborhood. There was just something about the music and excitement. We (that’s all of the kids in the neighborhood), would flock to the truck, anxious to purchase our very own sweet treat. Sadly, prices have skyrocketed.
I don’t know about ya’ll, but prices out here are nuts! I’m talking about $3 (on average) for an ice cream treat of some kind. That means i’m looking at about $15, just to get the kids 1 ice cream each. I can’t afford that!
Alas, we don’t have to go without! On May 10th, Blue Bunny Ice Cream coupons will be available in the Sunday paper! Their ice cream is super yummy too so this is a great opportunity to scoop some up (heh… see what I did there) for a low price!

Recently, I was given the opportunity to test a Snuggle-Pedic Memory Foam Mattress Topper. Having suffered from insomnia for most of my life, I was extremely excited to give it a shot. I didn’t have high hopes as i’d tried so many things over the years and the results weren’t great. This, however, has rocked my world in the best way possible!
Tip: If you’re interested in testing (and keeping) some AWESOME products that are solid on Amazon, you should definitely sign up for a FREE reviewer account on Dollar Deal Reviews.
I can’t believe how much support this topper has. With a thickness of only 2 inches, you’d think it would be like sleeping on a sponge (and you’d be wrong). I’ve spent the last 12 days thoroughly testing this topper – on both sides. Each day, I would get up, open my journal and write down how I felt. Here are my results:
Day 1: Started using my new topper (green side up). Slept for 14 1/2 hours! Oh my gosh! That’s like a mini coma – especially for someone (ahem… me) who suffers from insomnia. If I somehow manage to fall asleep, I usually end up tossing around all night. This was such a wonderful change. I woke up feeling rested and energized.
I did have an “off” feeling in my spine, but being familiar with memory foam, I know that that’s normal. This is my spine realigning itself. It’s not painful at all, it’s just…different.
Day 2: Had trouble sleeping tonight. I was incredible comfortable but couldn’t fall asleep. My brain wouldn’t shut off. I kept going over the 1001 things I need to get done. Obviously, that had nothing to do with the mattress topper, but if i’m keeping a “log” then I need to be thorough.
Day 3: Woke up feeling fantastic and ready to conquer the world. I took 2 TheraCherry pills before bed (which helped me fall asleep) and slept like a baby.
Day 4: Had a hard time dragging myself out of bed – which has now become my favorite place to be. Weekends are meant for sleeping in though so I took full advantage. I feel like i’m finally catching up on the sleep I have missed out on for so many years!
Day 5: Stayed up WAY too late getting caught up on work. Missed out on a lot of delicious sleep that this mattress topper has been providing. Though I could have gotten a few hours more, the sleep I did get was incredible – and still, NO back pain! Before this topper, I had forgotten what it’s like to be pain free!
Day 6: Sleep. How I love thee. How I’ve missed thee. So glad to have you back in my life! This topper just gets better and better. I’m almost afraid to try the other side as I so love the green side (aka, the softer side). Alas, a review cannot be complete if I don’t try it in as many ways as possible. Tonight, it’s time to try the pink side.
Day 7: I flipped the topper last night to give the pink side a try. I was apprehensive as I absolutely LOVE the softness on the green side. While i’m still partial to a softer feeling, the firmer side is nice too. Hubby recently injured his back and the firmer side is helping to keep his spine straight – which is alleviating some of the pain he is in.
Day 8: Still prefer the softer side but I sleep just fine on this one as well. I’ve always been more comfortable, sleeping on a softer surface. Don’t get me wrong, the firmer side is comfortable, it’s just a personal preference. That’s what’s so great about this topper. You have choices!
Day 9: I half expected to have that strange feeling in my spine again, since i’ve been using the firmer side after getting used to the softer side, but I don’t. I feel… normal. It’s amazing what a different there is between spring mattresses, cheap memory foam, and high-end memory foam.
Day 10: Still using the firmer side and so far, so good. Hubby’s been able to get in and out of bed, even though he’s in a lot of pain from his injury. He’s not taking anything other than advil so it would seem it’s the mattress that’s making a difference. Before we ordered this mattress topper, he was in constant agony. He’s feeling a bit better with each passing day.
Day 11: I didn’t sleep well last night. The kids were up all night, bursting with excitement over the Easter bunny arriving in the morning – which of course, kept me up all night too. My body feels great but I am super exhausted from lack of sleep.
Day 12: Caught up on some much needed rest. Yesterday was a LONG and tiring day. I counted the hours until I could climb into bed and relax. I slept soundly using a combination of the mattress topper, and my TheraCherry supplements. I feel rested, alert and ready to battle whatever challenges get in my way today!
All in all, I am incredibly happy with my purchase. While I personally prefer the softer side to the firmer side, I am incredibly happy to have that option. No other mattress topper offers this feature. It’s a well thought out product.
Contrary to popular belief, bigger isn’t better. This 2″ thick topper provides more support than my 8″ thick memory foam mattress. The materials are high quality, there’s no funky smell, and it’s built to last. The density of this foam is far superior to other toppers that i’ve tried. There’s just nothing like it!

As some of you know, I spent most of yesterday in the ER with my husband. He’s been sick for 3 weeks now (going on 4) and yesterday was his breaking point. He’s had trouble breathing and has been coughing non-stop (but it’s an unproductive cough). Long story short, he ended up being prescribed 4 different medications. An inhaler, a steroid, a medicated cough medicine and blood pressure meds. His blood pressure was dangerously high (245/143).
Initially, the hospital told us to go to Walmart to get the meds filled since they’re cheaper but apparently, their pharmacy isn’t open on Sundays (which left him without any meds until today). I used that time to do some research and my findings were horrible! People all over the U.S. were complaining about the service (or lack there of). Some were refused medications because the employees didn’t agree with the meds they were prescribed. Others had to wait WEEKS for urgent medications (such as insulin) and others, were shorted on their pain medications (and as you know, you can’t get another prescription for at least a month so they were forced to live in pain). There were even complaints about the pharmacy losing their prescriptions.
With my husband having serious breathing issues, I wasn’t about to deal with a potential disaster. That’s when I remembered the ER doctor saying that the blood pressure pills are FREE at Publix. I’d never heard such a thing and found it to be strange. Turns out though, that she was right! They DO offer FREE prescription medications!
I just got home and am happy to report that you absolutely CAN get FREE medication at Publix – and it’s hassle free! The downside, is that the rest of his meds ended up costing us $175 that we don’t have. We are in a tough financial spot right now and this REALLY set us back – but what can you do? He NEEDED these meds.
That said, all but one of medications are temporary. He won’t need to be on them for long. The one that he will need to continue taking is one of the FREE medications at Publix!
